:CP Vows To Apprehend Culprits
:Warns Against Misinformation

Yet to be identified persons had on October First set ablaze the study centre of the National Open University situated at Ezeoke Nsu, in Ehime Mbano.
This is even as the Imo Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma has vowed to apprehend the culprits.
Imo people woke up on October First to hear the news of the said Institution set ablaze by yet to be identified persons suspected to be unknown gunmen as said by police.
This incident however has reminded Imo People of such acts in the past when such acts were rampant.
Many Imolites, including the State Government have condemned the incident and urged the security agents to ensure that the culprits were apprehended.

However, Imo State Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, has strongly condemned the recent arson attack at the National Open University (NOUN), Ezeoke Nsu, in Ehime Mbano, and the partial destruction of the residence of former Senator Frank Ibezim, who previously represented Okigwe South.

The incident carried out by miscreants on September 30, 2024, has drawn widespread concern as CP Danjuma decried the attack as senseless and unwarranted, describing it as part of a disturbing trend of violence that threatens the safety and security of local communities. He emphasized that the Imo State Police Command stands firmly against such acts and will collaborate with other security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators are swiftly brought to justice.

In response to the attack, CP Danjuma immediately deployed the Command’s Tactical Unit to track down and apprehend those responsible for the arson. Additionally, he has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to launch a thorough investigation into the incident.

The Commissioner reassured the public that those involved in the attack will face the full weight of the law, reaffirming the police’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring that justice is served.

CP Danjuma also urged the public to refrain from spreading fake news or making inciting statements that could destabilize the current peace in the state. He warned that anyone caught spreading misinformation would face strict legal consequences.

He further reiterated that the police, in collaboration with other security agencies, are dedicated to maintaining peace and order across Imo State. He encouraged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement efforts to protect their communities.
