The inauguration ceremony of Ogberuru in Diaspora Association took place last Saturday at Mega One Events Centre, 1 Akanchawa Road, New Owerri behind Full Moon Hotel. Speaking on the occasion, the president of the association, Nze Edwin Emeka Ngharam (Kumbayala) disclosed that the association aims at making their community good and ensuring progress and development of their area. Nze Ngharam revealed that they are at the process of organizing free medical outreach in Ogberuru, and have doctors, nurses and other medical personnel, adding that they have secured a 5 bedroom bungalow and facilitated surgery while the association brought substantial sum of money for the upkeep of one of the patients who was amputated leg and hand. He maintained that the association was formed for the benefit of their people and pledged to always support with the little they have, recalling that investigation showed that pupils in 2 primary schools in Ogberuru had no school uniform and the association provided uniform for them from primary 1 to 6 so that they could be presentable. The president revealed the plans of the association to build a first class hospital in Ogberuru in the next five years, pointing out that by this time next year, the foundation laying ceremony will take place while the project will be completed in record time. He noted that primary school is key to the success of everyone and expressed the resolve of the association to give the two primary schools in Ogberuru a very good facelift, stressing that they are to be held accountable for their promises. Also speaking, Chief Sir Aham Nwosu from Ogberuru based in Canada said the aim of the association is to help their people, the sick, the less privileged and vulnerable ones, because according to him, the world is a global village, and an entity. Chief Sir Nwosu prayed that the association grows from strength to strength and in numbers, and gave an assurance that they will do everything to support their people and describing the event as a huge success because their invitees were present including the traditional rulers and people came from all over the world. Chief Charles Amagba (Agbaegonkiti 1 of Ogberuru) disclosed that he has been contributing immensely to the association financially, morally and otherwise being one of the pillars and expressed delight with what he is seeing in the area. Chief Kelechi Adiole (Nwachinemere) revealed that their is no place like home, adding that God has given them the resources to contribute to development of their community schools, improved health care and market. Sunday Adiole (Aka Onatara Dike Mma, Akpunwa said the good thing about the inauguration is that they should ensure that things move well and they have agreed to move ahead for positive change. Ichie Dubenna Joel Mgbeduru expressed their determination to give moral and financial support to the association. In his remarks,, the CEO Zenic Silver Ltd, Chief Engr Uzoma Oledibe said Ogberuru in Diaspora has the same mentality with them on how to make Ogberuru better and thanked their traditional rulers who came to show solidarity including the traditional ruler of Ogberuru, Eze UOU Iriele and that of Isiala Ogberuru,, Eze Sir Paul Uloeme.
