:Says, Dibiagwu not Imposing Candidate
: Urges Media Against Unprofessionalism.

The Imo Progressive Movement (IPM) has refuted reports of purported crisis erupting the political organization even as he reaffirmed that the National Convener, Hon. Eugene Okechukwu Dibiagwu who also represents Oguta/Ohaji- Egbema and Oru West Federal Constituency did not impose anyone as LGA Chairman in Oguta.

In a statement signed by the Director-General, Imo Progressives Movement (IPM), Comrade Jeff Nwaoha, it reads thus ” The attention of the Imo Progressive Movement (IPM) has been drawn to some publications made by some local newspapers, which made false claims about the upcoming local government elections in Imo State and regarding the actions and intentions of our National Convener, Hon. Eugene Okechukwu Dibiagwu, who also represents the good people of Oguta/Ohaji-Egbema and Oru West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives”.

“We wish to categorically debunk these false and misleading reports suggesting that Hon. Dibiagwu is attempting to impose his loyalist as the preferred APC candidate in Oguta LGA. This is a baseless accusation that has no grounding in truth.
IPM unequivocally states that Hon. Dibiagwu has not, at any time, endorsed or sought to impose any candidate for the LGA Chairman position in Oguta. Furthermore, the reports also claim that the alleged preferred candidate is not a member of the IPM, leading to a supposed crisis within our movement”.

“We also want to make it abundantly clear that there is absolutely no crisis in IPM. Our organization remains united and committed to the principles of fairness, equity and transparency in all political processes. The suggestion that there is any form of discord within IPM is nothing but a fabrication aimed at sowing seeds of discord where none exists.”

“Another spurious and bizarre claim in the incendiary publications is that Hon. Dibiagwu is nursing a governorship ambition in 2027. The mischief behind this assertion has already collapsed like a pack of cards, given that everyone in the State already knows our National Convener’s unwavering support for Governor Hope Uzodimma and the sincerity and diligence with which he carries on with all things necessary for the success of the Uzodimma administration”.

“So far as Oguta LGA is concerned, it is important to note that Hon. Dibiagwu, in his capacity as a federal lawmaker and leader, has always prioritized the collective will of the people over personal interests. His commitment to democratic ideals is unwavering, and he has consistently advocated for the right of the people to freely choose their leaders without undue influence or interference”.

“The Imo Progressives Movement remains steadfast in its mission to support credible leadership and good governance in Imo State. Any insinuation to the contrary is a blatant falsehood.
We call on the general public to disregard these unfounded reports and to remain focused on the upcoming elections, confident in the knowledge that IPM will continue to operate with the utmost integrity, loyalty to the vision of Governor Hope Uzodimma and dedication to the well-being of the people of Imo State.”
