Ahead of 2023 polls, the peace talk between the former Governor of Imo State Senator Rochas Okorocha and Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma may suffer setback following the inability of Okorocha to trade or withhold his Support for his political sons, member representing Oguta,Oru west and Ohaji Egbema Federal Constituency,Hon Uju Kingsley, member representing Nkwerre,Isu, Nwangele and Njaba Federal Constituency, Ugonna Ozuruigbo, Member representing Ideato Federal Constituency, Dr. Paschal Obi.
It would be recalled that the above names who are holding the return Tickets of the PDP,and Labour parties left the APC during the fierce battle between their political god Father,Rochas Okorocha and the Governor of Imo state, Senator Hope Uzodinma over the sole of the APC in Imo which Uzodinma later emerged victorious.
However, this paper gathered that the peace talk between the said Okorocha and Uzodinma which started last year where the duo were said to have agreed to work together as well as to deliver the APC on the next election may not hold as planned as the former Governor, Rochas Okorocha is of the view that his major lieutenants who are holding the Tickets of the PDP and Labour parties should be given free hands to win their elections, a demand which the Uzodinma led administration appears not to be comfortable with.
A source from the Government circle hinted Lead that the said demand of Okorocha to return his Loyalists who are no longer members of the ruling APC may result in a fresh political war between the duo of Okorocha and Uzodinma as the Governor is totally against the demand.
Same source revealed that the State Government has begun to jettison the peace talk following also the recent call on Imo electorate by Okorocha to vote candidates who have the capacities to attract dividends of democracy to the people irrespective of the political parties they belong in the forthcoming election.
Okorocha who disclosed this at the burial ceremony of Kingsley Uju’s late Mother also pointed out at same event that he would soon organise a World Press conference where he would tell the people the candidates to vote for in the next election.
Recall that the trio of Okorocha’s Loyalists were no where in the politics of Imo State and Nigeria except when through Uzodinma.
Paschal Obi who is holding the Ticket of the Labour party for Ideato House of Representatives seat was before the emergence of Okorocha as Governor,a Civil Servant in Imo State Civil Service where Okorocha made him the his principal Secretary , from the position he was given the Ticket of the APC for House of Representatives.
Uju Kingsley on the other hand was no where close to politics when Okorocha took him, made him Deputy Chief of Staff from where he was posted to manage the ISOPADEC as the MD and from there he was posted to the Ministry of Lands and finally was given the Ticket of APC for Oguta,Oru west and Ohaji Egbema.
In same vain, Ugonna Ozuruigbo started from the Imo State House of Assembly where he represented Nwangele Local Government and from there,he was made to have the Ticket of APC for Nkwerre, Osu, Nwangele and Njaba Federal House of Representatives by same Okorocha.
