Tuesday April second may have come and gone but it’s memories will remain green in the annals of the soil in Umuna, Orlu LGA and Imo in general as the first time in the recent times what it’s used to know as “Old Boys” now include the female folk.
Aside the involvement of the females, certain vital positions were allotted to the females.
The event which held in Owerri had in attendance, the 1980 to 1995 sets of the said Schools trooped in from various countries also witnessed the given out of Awards as well as cash gifts to Teachers of the then students as well as presentation of the results of online election of the group by the returning officer, Chief Okwy Bob Dim.

In his address, the President/Coordinator of the group,GOC Nwadike expressed gratitude to the members for not only coming together to form what he described as a noble organization but for including the female folk as full members.

According to the President, old boys Associtions are as old as humanity but non of the groups has taken it down to the primary Schools as well as including the females as members.

Nwadike who poured ecomiums on the Teachers for making them who they are today revealed that forty years ago, the said Teachers were cleaning them of dirts, directing them and above all teaching them .
Presenting the Awards to the Teachers, the legal Adviser of the group,Barr Jude Oduoma thanked the Teachers for being there for them when they needed them most.
Oduoma, the principal council in Akaraugo Chambers further used the medium to thank their members for coming together to form a common front adding that the sky would be the starting point of they would achieve for humanity as members.

In their different remarks, the Teachers expressed gratitude to the group as well informed them of some of the challenges of the Schools which include, lack of reading desks, entrance gate amongst Others.
Those present at the event include,Akajiofor of Uzoubi Umuna,Chinemerem Osuala amongst Others.
