: Meets Orlu Zone Monarchs Over Uzodinma’s Re election.
Senator representing Imo West, Senator Osita Izunaso has called on his opponents during the just concluded Imo West Senatorial election to join hands with him to move the zone forward as Court of Appeal has finally declared him the winner of the 2023 Orlu Senatorial election.
This is even as he described both the outcome of the election and that of the Courts as no victor, no vanquished.
Recall that Izunaso, a two time Senator and a former House of Representatives was dragged to election Petition Tribunal by the Candidate of the Labour party,Chief Charles Ahize, asking Court to declare him the winner of the Poll.
The election Petition Tribunal after it’s judgment in favour of Izunaso, his rival Ahize still proceeded to Court of Appeal which had on last Thursday affirmed Izunaso’s Victory in Lagos.
Speaking to Lead Express after the Court of Appeal judgment, Izunaso while describing Ahize as a brother and Political Ally appealed to him to join hands with him to move Orlu to another height which according to him is the only place they can call theirs.
Izunaso,a lawyer with years standing further used the medium to call on opposition members and Imo People at large to support Uzodinma’s re election adding that Uzodinma has performed creditably to be re elected.
According to Izunaso,aside reconstruction of the major Roads that connected Imo to other States such as Orlu Owerri Road, Okigwe Owerri Road , through Uzodinma Alvan Ikokuku College of Education Owerri has been elevated to the Federal University status,same is applicable to both FMC and FUTO.
Meanwhile, Senator Izunaso had on Sunday intimated the Orlu Zone Monarchs over the need to re elect their Son, Senator Hope Uzodinma for the second term.
Addressing the Traditional Rulers at Eze Imo House, Izunaso made it clear that though Traditional Rulers are forbidden from playing partisan Politics but at same time, they have a role to play in ensuring that the right people are in the leadership positions.
According to Izunaso, Uzodinma as their son has done well hence his intention for another term is purely on merit.
