:Ezeala Stops Onyeriri, Self As Candidate

Ahead of 2023 national Assembly elections, Imo PDP appears to have turned witches and witchzards against selves as Hon ThankGod Ezeani has finally stopped the candidature of Jones Onyeriri without self being declared the Party’s candidate by the Supreme Court.
The Apex Court led by Justice Agim had over the weekend, gave another Land mark judgement after that of Ihedioha I 2020 by declaring invalid, the candidature of Jones Onyeriri for Imo West national Assembly elections slated for next month on the ground that the said primaries which gave birth to his candidature was done in Owerri instead of Orlu Local Government Headquarters.
The judgement which has thrown the party off balance has remained the talk of the Town in Imo and beyond for some days now.
Investigations carried out by Lead revealed that the members of the PDP are not just crying that Onyeriri was removed by the Apex Court but the judgment further said that PDP would not field candidate in the election.
Reacting to the judgement,some of the PDP members who spoke to Lead on the guise of anonymity described the judgement as a set back to the party as the party has been defranchised from taking part in the election it has prepared vividly for.
However, pundits are of the view that the judgement has increased the chances of the ruling party, the APC winning the election since the Supporters of Jones may likely going to support the APC candidate, Senator Osita Izunaso who has been described in varying quarters as possessing the needed qualifications for the job.
