The stakes in Isiala Mbano LGA in the forthcoming local government elections in the state have now been raised following the emergence of popular businessman, philanthropist and advocate for youth development, Chief Collins Osuagwu as the Chairmanship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The youthful politician, described by many people of Isiala Mbano as the best candidate to move their LGA forward, emerged as a consensus candidate via a voice vote by all the delegates present at the well attended primary election that took place on Friday, August 9, at the Umunchi community hall in the LGA.
Speaking on behalf of the team of the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC) observers that supervised the primary election, Mr. Chidi Uba ( Head of Operations, Election and Party Monitoring ), described the entire exercise as excellent and orderly, noting that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) had exhibited discipline and maturity worthy of emulation by other political parties.
The ISIEC representative added that henceforth the issue of primary election in Isiala Mbano ADC had been settled with the emergence of the Chairmanship candidate and councilorship candidates as well.

Mbano, Chief Collins Osuagwu expressed his delight at the goodwill of his people towards his aspiration to serve them.
Chief Osuagwu informed that through his foundation – the Collins Osuagwu Foundation – many lives in Isiala Mbano and beyond have been touched in many positive ways.
The ADC Chairmanship candidate stressed that it was time for a paradigm shift in political thinking in his LGA to usher in prosperity and development at all levels.
He maintained that the people of Isiala Mbano needed an accountable, transparent and vision – driven regime at the local government which he represents, calling on all his people to rally round his vision of a new development – driven LGA.
Also speaking to pressmen at the event, the State Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Chief Emma Amushie described his joy at the peaceful conduct of the primary election and the emergence of Chief Collins Osuagwu as Chairmanship candidate for Isiala Mbano LGA, describing him as ‘very popular, acceptable and loved by his people. He has done a lot for Isiala Mbano. We are sure of his victory in Isiala Mbano. The era of rigging is over. Governor Hope Uzodinma has promised that he would neither interfere nor influence the election and that the right winner would be declared.’
On the readiness of his party for the forthcoming LGA elections, Chief Amushie described the ADC as the alternative political party waiting to take over the mantle of leadership across all the 27 LGAs of the state.
Amushie called on the people of Isiala Mbano to support Chief Collins Osuagwu and all the ADC Councilors in the forthcoming local government elections for quality service delivery, development and empowerment at all levels.
