Owerre – Ebeiri Town Election Holds Morrow

All is now set for the long awaited Owerre- Ebeiri Town Union Election will hold on Saturday, 30th of August, 2025 at the Community Secondary School Owerre- Ebeiri.

Speaking to newsmen,  the Electoral Committee in charge of this year’s Owerre-Ebeiri Development Union’s election has disclosed their readiness to conduct the most credible, free and fair elections in the history of the community.

The chairman of the electoral committee, Chief Donatus Emeka Osuchukwu, Mee ke iji 1 of Owerre-Ebeiri assured the people of the community that his committee is competent enough to deliver the most credible election yet to witness in the entire Community. 

Chief Osuchukwu  used the opportunity solicite for supports and cooperation of all the aspirants and electorates to enable them succeed and charged everyone to observe the electoral principles and guidelines. 

Adding his voice, the Interim President General of Owerre-Ebeiri Development Union, Evangelist Chigozie Ibe in a joint council meeting held at the Eze’s Palace on Monday 25th August 2025 aplauded Chief Donatus Emeka Osuchukwu and his committee for their good work so far and pleaded with the entire community to give the Electoral Committee the maximum co-operation to accomplish the task of delivering a free, fair and credible election bestowed on them.

The President General also warned against any kind of thurgery and violence during the electionary and after the election. 

The National Codinator of this year’s Owerre-Ebeiri Development Union’s election and Chief Spokesman to the Electoral Committee, Chief Sir Fort Okorie, Otigbu Inyinya 1 of Owerre-Ebeiri, at the joint meeting announced that casting of votes will commence with Diasporans voting at 8am followed by general voting at 10am on that same day, 30th of August 2025. 

According to Chief Otigbu Inyinya, only taxable male indigens of the community is eligible to participate in the voting. 

Chief Otigbu Inyinya further applauded the Honourable councilor representing Owerre-Ebeiri Ward in the Orlu LGA 7th Legislative council, Honorable Magnus Okorie.

Also, the President of Owerre-Ebeiri Development Union in Diaspora, Chief Nzeribe Azukwu used the opportunity to thank all the Diasporans and the President of Owerre-Ebeiri Abrodians Union, Chief Festus Okorie and all the Abrodians, The Palace secretary, Chief Chijioke Okereke, and the Eze and chiefs in council, The Owerre-Ebeiri Youths, Rev. Fr. Thadeus Ihebinike and all the clergy, The Stakeholders  and in a special way the Interim government of the community led by Evangelist Chigozie Ibe and all the citizens of Owerre-Ebeiri for their motivations, encouragements and supports to the electoral committee which has hugely contributed to the committee’s present achievements.

The Codinator Chief Sir Fort Okorie, Otigbu Inyinya, commended all the electoral committee members for their steadfast and dedications to duty.

He disclosed that the venue for the election is at the Community secondary school field Owerre-Ebeiri while the Owerre-Ebeiri General Assembly Hall remains the venue for the Town Union’s meeting on Friday 29th August by 10am followed by the election at the next day, Saturday 30th of August 2025.

The traditional Prime Minister of Owerre-Ebeiri ancient kingdom, Chief Charles Akwuche, Ezenwata 11 and Eze Ana eche the 1st thanked the Electoral Committee members for living up to expectations.
