Owerri Municipal Council Chairman Presents 2025 Budget

The Chairman of Owerri Municipal Council, Hon  Chidiebere Emeribe,  has presented the 2025 Budget proposal of seven billion, one Hundred and seventy-four million, one hundred and seventy thousand and eighty Naira, tagged ” Budget of Renew Restoration and Prosperity,” to the lawmakers of Owerri Municipal Legislative Council for their consideration and passage.

The Presentation took place at the Legislative Chambers of the Council Secretariat, Owerri 

He disclosed that the 2025 Budget shows an increase of four billion, six hundred and ninety-two million, nine hundred and twenty-nine thousand, five hundred and eighty Naira as against  two  billion, four hundred and eighty-one million, two hundred and forty thousand, five hundred Naira, presented in 2024

According to the Owerri Municipal Council Chairman, Hon. Emeribe, the 2025 budget proposal would put his administration in a road map towards securing peace, prosperity and hope for a greater future for the Municipal Council. 

He noted that the budget which is inline with the Shared Prosperity Administration of Governor Hope Uzodinma in the state, demonstrates their commitment to stabilizing the economy, improve the quality of lives and reposition Owerri Municipal Council for greater performance.

The Owerri Municipal Council Boss, pointed out that the 2025 budget seeks to consolidate economic restructuring, improve human capital development, provide good motorable roads within the Municipality, rehabilitate government infrastructure such as schools, Healthcare and recreational centres, among other things.
The Leader of Owerri Municipal Legislative Council, Hon. Justice Soronnadi,  assured the Chairman of their continued partnership and also revealed their determination to give the 2025 budget a speedy consideration and passage.
   The Chairman later swore-in the Secretary to the Municipal Council, four Supervisory Councillors and one Special Adviser.
