The sole administrator of Onuimo LGA,Chief Emeka Obi has condemned in its entirety the killing of seven cabinet members of the traditional ruler of Umucheke Okwe, autonomous community of the LGA. He described the killing as senseless and dastardly,perpetuated by devil’s incarnates and heartless fellows.
More than eight cabinet members of the traditional council were having meeting around 4pm this evening at the residence of the former president general of the autonomous community, Mr Christian Onyeahala,Aka nyaa nchaa, when some un-identified armed men,some of them putting on face masks invaded the place and rained bullets on all.
They did not only kill the current PG of the autonomous community Mr. Hygienus Ohazirike(also known as Pangason) and other six, they went ahead and set a good number of the deceased ablaze. The only survivor, Mr.Geophery Ariwodor,aka Agazuo,a renowned MC,is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
On visitation to the scene of the incident, Chief Obi, in a retinue of sympathizers wept bitterly at the gory sight and regretted such a thing never happened.
The Sole administrator later sued for calm and called on the security operatives on ground to take charge,he then made arrangements for the treatment of some others caught by bullets during the attack.
The Sole administrator later addressed a larger crowd of the people at Umuna roundabout, Onuimo.,he charged them to remain,calm, peaceful while promising that the security operatives are already on the matter and that in no distant time,those behind the dastardly act would be brought to book.Meanwhie every effort made to get the side of the police proved abortive as the phone number of the PPRO, Henry Okoye was switched off at the time of filing the report.
