: President Calls For oneness.
The popular Recreation Club Orlu had last Saturday October 26th inaugurated the newly elected Executive.
This is even as the new President, Dr Udeagu Godwin vowed to move the club to another height and appealed to all and sundry to work together for the progress of the Club.
The event which took place at the Club ‘s premises had people from different walks of life in attendance as well as the eighteen members of the new executive who took the oath of office.
Addressing the gathering, the new President, Dr Udeagu however expressed gratitude to the members for finding him and the team worthy of serving ,vowing not to disappoint them.
Describing the Orlu Recreation Club as one of the oldest in Nigeria which came into existence in 1930, Udeagu, a medical practitioner / consultant Radiologist at Federal Medical Center Umuahia expressed gratitude to the former presidents as well as other Executive members adding that he would ensure that the Club does not fail short of the expectations of it’s founders.
The colorful event which was chaired by a former two term President, Chief Emeka Ifediba advised the awardees and the new inaugurates members to be good Representatives of the Club and urged them to show high level of discipline in Club matters.
In his submission, the new grand patron of the Club,Chief Valentine Nwagu thanked the members for honoring him with the grand patron status of what he described as a prestigious Club pointing out that he would not disappoint them.
In their separate speeches, the new Patron of the Club, Hon CaniceMore Nwachukwu, the Celebrities, Barr Ikenna Ihezuo, Prince Stanley Nwosu thanked the Club members over the various positions given to them and promised to assist them in their various future endeavors.
Speaking to Lead Express after the event, one of the Patrons of the Club, Hon Harry Ihebinike congratulated the new Executives and urged them to be good Ambassadors of the Club.
The highpoint of the occasion was the swearing in of the eighteen executive members.
