The Senate on Wednesday summoned Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr Olayemi Cardoso over the continued fall of Naira as against other hard currencies particularly the dollar.

The summon which came through its Committee on Banking, Insurance and other Financial Institutions headed by Senator Adetokunbo Abiru was aimed at hearing from the CBN, the state of the economy amongst Other things.
However, the CBN Governor as well as his team were asked to appear on next Tuesday to explain the state of the economy and the free flow of the Naira at the forex market.
The Committee frowned at continued fall of Naira that saw it rose to N1,520 to a US dollar as at Wednesday.
Speaking with journalists after the meeting held at the Senate Chambers, Senator Abiru said that they would meet the Press again after next week adding that their brief meeting centred on the nation’s economy.
