Barely one month after the Supreme Court nullified the primary election that gave birth to Jones Onyeriri’s candidature, the Director General of one of Jerry Alagbaoso’s campaign Organization (JACO) Sir Unamma Olemgbe has attributed the said loss to a person he described as Imo son that holds a sensitive position at the PDP national who according to him masterminded the rigging of the primary election held in Imo.
In a Press release signed by the said Director and made available to Lead, he revealed that while in a hurry to cement the election rigging which brought Onyeriri’as the candidate of the Party, Imo Abuja cabal ignored the PDP panel report which hitherto called for a fresh primaries on the grounds that the electoral Act is against conduct of primaries outside Senatorial District of the contestants, a report which the Supreme Court held unto to nullify the election.
According to JACO, the Imo man in Abuja who now parades himself as the alpha and Omega of the party in Imo allegedly doctored the report of the PDP’s panel instead of aligning self with the report and that according to him has taken the party miles backwards.
In the release,JACO recalled that their Principal, Rt Hon Jerry Alagbaoso warned the PDP leaders ahead of the Primaries that he would proceed to Court if the election was not conducted free and fair adding that he was surprised to hear some people accusing,the immediate former Governor of Imo State,Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha of influencing the judgement when the content of the judgement was a constituional issue and Matter.
Describing the accusing finger on Ihedioha as act of tagging a dog a bad name in order to hang it, Olemgbe revealed the readiness of JACO to support all the candidates of the PDP in the forthcoming election and warned the said Imo Abuja man to count his tooth with his tongue.
It would be recalled that Supreme Court had on January 13 nullified the PDP primaries for Orlu Senatorial zone on the grounds that the election was conducted outside Orlu Senatorial district.
This followed the individual petitions by two other contestants, Rt Hon Thank God Ezeala and Rt Hon Jerry Alagbaoso to the Court that the said election was marred by irregularities.
