Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Orlu Local Government had over the weekend joined the Zone in grand finale over one week’s tour of the Zone on sensitization visits to the Twelve Local Governments that make up the zone.
This is even as the Orlu Zone APC re affirmed the suspension of the Acting Ward Chairman of Ohaeke Okporo Ward, Anselem Okonkwo
In a Letter dated ( February 20th, 2025) and signed by the Local Government Chairman of the Party, Rt. Hon. Prince Stanley Nwosu JP. and the Party’s LGA Secretary, Emma Ogoh Ph D, the suspension of the Ward Chairman followed alleged conducts contrary to the Party’s constitution.
The tour which aimed at strengthening the party at the grassroot however served as avenue by which the leaders cautioned party’s faithful against anti party activities.
The party members in 12 Local government areas used the medium to re affirm their loyalty, support, and commitment to the leadership of the party led by Hon. Sir MacDonald Kelechi Ebere Ph.D
This peaceful tour around the zone has brought to an end, the speculation and the notion that the Imo West senatorial district is still plagued by insecurity.
The grassroots awareness and sensitization move demonstrated the party’s strength and unity in the zone. The tour also provided an opportunity for the party leaders to interact with the people, understand their needs, and reiterate their commitment to the party’s ideals.
The grand finale of the tour in the zone was a resounding success, showcasing impressive organization and orderliness. The event, which began at Orlu LGA, was supported by the Apex Leader of APC Orlu LGA and House of Representatives member for Orlu/ Orsu/ Oru-East Federal Constituency in the 10th Assembly Hon. Speaking to the Press after the event, the LGA Chairman of the APC in Orlu LGA, Rt Hon Prince Stanley Nwosu JP who doubles as coordinating Chairman of APC in Orlu,Orsu, and Oru East Federal Constituency and Chairman of APC Chairmen in Orlu Zone expressed gratitude to the Apex leader of APC Orlu LGA, Hon. High Chief Canice Moore Chukwugozie Nwachukwu, member representing Orlu,Orsu and Oru East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and other stakeholders who made the occasion colourful.
The leadership and members of the party expressed their gratitude and support to the Orlu zonal leadership of the party and promised to remain supportive to the government of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma, Governor of Imo State for all he has done for the good people of Orlu.
The final leg of the grand finale took place at the Oru East Local Government Area in Omuma, where the team was received by top party leaders, including the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor General services, Hon Chief Ferdinand Uzodinma, the Commissioner for Rural Development and Economic Empowerment, Hon Ifeanyi Oruh, the executive chairman of the council, Hon Nnamdi Nwaigwe, the southeast zonal party publicity secretary and Managing Director ISOPADEC,Hon Augustine Onyedebelu, the chairman Imo state local government service commission, Dr Obinatu, all LGA elected councilors, supervisory councilors, the LGA party chairman, Hon Prince Sir Alban Amasiatu with his wards and LGA executives among others.
The leaders praised the delegation for embarking on the LGA tour, demonstrating proactive leadership. They assured the Barr Ugwu led delegation of their commitment to party unity and collaboration with Governor Uzodinma.
Addressing party faithfuls, Barr Kevin Ugwu, the zonal chairman of APC Orlu Zone expressed his gratitude to party faithfuls in all local government areas for their commitment and loyalty, which have led to significant victories in past elections. He assured them that their dedication has not gone unnoticed and will be rewarded in due time, as long as they remain steadfast. However, he also issued a stern warning against any anti-party activities, emphasizing that such actions will not go unpunished, particularly any one irrespective of position, who compromises the fairness and inclusivity of upcoming party congresses.
The tour, which covered all 12 local government areas, was marked by humor and camaraderie, this was made possible by the zonal chairman Nze Barr Kevin Ugwu, the state organizing secretary, Hon (Sir) Ikechukwu Umeh, the state woman leader, Hon.
