The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike has accused some Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors of not being straightforward in their dealings with President Bola Tinubu.

The former governor of Rivers State who revealed that those governors supports the president only in private made the remarks during the PDP’s state congress held at the party’s Secretariat in Port Harcourt on Saturday, August 31.

Criticizing the behavior of such governors, Wike emphatically said; “They love the president at night but say a different thing during the day.”

Also addressing his controversial decision to oppose the PDP during the last presidential election, the Minister explained that his actions were driven by what he perceived as the party’s failure to uphold the principles of justice, fairness, and equity.

In his words;

“I didn’t hide it in 2023 when I said PDP I would not support you for presidential election, I said I won’t support PDP because it refused to allow equity, fairness, and justice. So, I have no regrets.

“When Buhari was there, you never saw me play two sides; I never went to the Villa at night only to come out in the day to shout. Some of them now love the president at night, but during the day, they say different things.

“Be a man of character, stand so that people will know that this is who you are. I hear some people saying we are supporting somebody else, why won’t we support him?

“We defeated your own candidates, tell us who was your candidate in 2023? They all lost, they are not ashamed that what they didn’t plant, they want to harvest. An armed robber is an armed robber any day, any time.”
