The Imo Progressives Movement (IPM) has reaffirmed its unwavering loyalty and support to the Executive Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, during its Third National Executive Council (NEC) Meeting held on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at the Movement’s National Headquarters in Owerri.

In a press release signed by the National Director of Media/Publicity IPM Collins Opurozor, it stated that
the high-level meeting brought together IPM coordinators from all 27 local government areas of the state, zonal women and youth leaders, state directors, members of the Board of Trustees, and other key stakeholders. The session was chaired by the National Convener and Facilitator of the Movement, Rt. Hon. Eugene Okechukwu Dibiagwu (MFHR), who also represents Ohaji-Egbema/Oguta/Oru West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

During deliberations, members of NEC commended Rt. Hon. Dibiagwu for his exemplary leadership and transformative representation in the National Assembly. They lauded his various constituency interventions, which include youth and women empowerment programs, infrastructure development, school rehabilitation projects, and grants for small-scale traders.

Hon. Williams Ejiakor, Chairman of the IPM Board of Trustees, presented a comprehensive overview of these achievements, describing them as life-changing and impactful across communities. NEC members echoed this sentiment, affirming that Rt. Hon. Dibiagwu has faithfully delivered on his mandate both to his constituents and to the broader objectives of the IPM.

In his address, Rt. Hon. Dibiagwu thanked members of NEC for their loyalty and steadfastness, describing the IPM as a robust political platform anchored on the vision of Governor Uzodimma. He made it clear that his political direction is fully aligned with that of the Governor, with no personal ambition beyond serving within that framework. He also pledged to maintain the standard of transparent and accountable representation for which he has become known.

A key highlight of the meeting was the unanimous adoption of a vote of confidence in Governor Hope Uzodimma. The motion was moved by the IPM Director General, Comrade Jeff Nwaoha, and seconded by Comrade Greg Nwadike, receiving resounding approval from members.

The Governor was praised as a “visionary leader” whose administration has brought transformative change to Imo State through infrastructural development, civil service reforms, salary increments for workers, and revitalization of key sectors such as health, education, and industry.

To further support and publicize the Governor’s achievements, NEC resolved to embark on a state-wide project tour to showcase key infrastructure and development projects under Governor Uzodimma’s leadership. According to NEC, this initiative aims to highlight the Governor’s impact and deepen citizen engagement.

In another strategic move, the Council announced the activation of grassroots structures across all 305 electoral wards in the state. This is geared toward mobilizing citizens for the ongoing voter registration exercise, a step NEC believes will bolster democratic participation and sustain the political momentum of the Movement.

The Third NEC Meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to strengthening internal cohesion, enhancing community outreach, and solidifying the IPM’s role as a driving force for good governance and development in Imo State.
