Owerri, Imo State Capital which is reputed as an educational and knowledge hub, is set to add another feather to its bulging cap, with the full take off of Treasurehall Professional Training Centre.

Pursuant to that vision, the Centre which boasts of top notch facilities, ambience and Tutors , recently hosted a high powered assessment team from the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, CITN, the regulatory body for tax practice in the country, which came on an accreditation mission.

The CITN team comprising Comrade Basil Iwu, a fellow of the institute and a renown tax professional, former Chairman Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, CITN, Owerri District Society and acting permanent secretary Imo State Ministry of Labour, Employment and Productivity Dr Mrs Angela Duru CITN Chairman Owerri District Society, told newsmen at the end of the painstaking exercise, that they were satisfied with what they saw, promising to convey the same to the national leadership of CITN.

The inspection team emphasized that the visit signposted CITN’s belief that professional excellence could only be attained through equally excellent training, hence the importance attached to the process of accrediting Centres wishing to train tax practitioners.

According to them, having seen the near perfect readiness of Treasurehall to revolutionize and lead the charge to position Owerri and Imo State, as a choice destination in the map of professional examination in the country, the Owerri District Society of CITN will actively partner and collaborate with them, to make sure that the lofty objectives behind the vision are achieved.

He said the vision behind the Centre is to make professional training and certification easy and struggle free for upcoming generations, contrary to what those of them who began their career in the city in the eighties passed through in the quest to improve their professional skill and competence.
Beyond that, he also noted that the Centre is one way he is giving back to the society where his successful journey in the financial sector of the economy started, back then as a staff of the prestigious Akintola Williams Deloitte.
Otumba, also a certified fraud examiner and certified forensic accountant further disclosed that the Centre has already qualified four chartered tax practitioners as full-fledged professional members of the CITN and four chartered accountants as full-fledged members of ICAN, all of whom have been elevated in their various offices.
He bemoaned the declining interest of people in both professions in the South East to upgrade their skills and bag critical professional certifications, to position themselves for future opportunities, and urged them to hurry to the Centre located opposite Imo Housing Corporation, along MCC/Uratta Road, to be trained by experienced, tested and trusted professionals drawn from various reputable institutions.
