A US citizen , Chief Bennett Ukpabia has petitioned Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 9 Umuahia alleging that one Pastor Uchechukwu Franklin abducted his wife and a year old daughter and looted valuable belongings including landed documents and huge amounts of money ($5900 and #350000).
The above allegation was contained in a petition with the title,’ Re:Sustainef and Incessant threats, threatening Violence, Intimidation, Conspiracy and Abduction of the wife , Daughter and Gateman of
Bennett Ukpabia of Akuwa Ibeku Okwuato by one Pastor Uche Franklin and his boys, names unknown of Umuokeodu Akuwa, Ibeku Okwuato Aboh Mbaise LGA of Imo State’, addressed to Assistant Inspector of Police Zone 9 Umuahia and copied to The Assistant Controller of Imo State Correctional Centre , Owerri signed by AE Oparaji Esq.of Maduagwu Oparaji & Co. Ave Maria Chambers on behalf of Chief Beneath Ukpabia.
It reads in.parts,’ that the said Pastor Uche Franklin has been boasting that him and his boys are in charge of the entire area and they decide what and how things should happen in the neighborhood.
‘That the said Pastor Uche Franklin further boasted that he will use his position as a staff of Imo State Correction Centre Orlu, Imo state to deal with our client and his family.
‘That to make worse his threat to the chagrin of the client the said Pastor Uche Franklin herein with his boys stormed the house of our client ‘s wife, daughter and Gateman to unknown place.
‘That furthermore the said Pastor Uche Franklin and his cohorts vandalized the house of our client and took away some valuable properties belonging to our client and his family members.
Conclusively, the AIG was urged to investigate the ‘serious complaint with the view to ensuring that justice is served.
Chief Ukpabia a US nurse of over thirty years standing who hails from Ibeku in Aboh Mbaise was perplexed recounting his ordeal in the hand of one pastor named Uchechukwu Franklin . According to him the said pastor and his thugs invaded his house at his absence ransacked and carted away valuable documents including $5900, #350000 after abducting his wife, one year old daughter and his gate man to an unknown destination.
Ukpabia said as a US based he returns home twice in year that in one of those days he noticed that Pastor Uche Franklin who he shares boundary with had mounted a public address system very close to his house. According to him when he complained the pastor agreed he would turn the volume down.
He stated that on Monday 31st March around 1am as the sound of the public address system was blasting and disturbing he went to the pastor complaining bitterly but ran for his his life when the pastor and some people started attacking him.
In his words,’ the following morning when I had left he invaded my house with a team of armed men pounced on my security man, got into my living rooms abducted my wife her one year old baby including the security man and disappeared to an unknown destination.
‘Later the pastor and his thugs came back ransacked my house and carted away my valuable documents including $5900 and #350000.
