Joy knew no bounds in the hearts of manvy vulnerable children in Imo State as Amb. Obinna Ukor, the Founder of Obinna Ukor Foundation visited Orphanage Homes where he donated food and babies items such as beverages, biscuits, drinks, indomie noodles, tomatoes, cooking oil, wipes, tissues, oil, powder, lotion, cutting bud, pampas, detergent, soap, perfume, among others.
Thus, Orphanage Homes Obinna Ukor Foundation visited are Jehovah Nissi Orphanage/Motherless Babies Home, Area M, World Bank, Owerri and Jesus Orphanage Home, World Bank.
The visit happened on Valentine’s Day and Ash Wednesday. Among dignitaries who accompanied Amb. Obinna Ukor and his family to the Less-privileged Homes was Professor Okee Okoro, of Imo State University, Owerri and former Commissioner of Environment.
Giving out the items to the Less-privileged, Ukor explained that he was touched to visit the children and show love to them, saying those items were donated to relieve them of hunger and the burden of procuring baby materials which he added are very costly in the market.
Ukor, who promised that he will often be in touch with Jesus Orphanage Home and Jehovah Nissi Orphanage/Motherless Babies Home to ensure that the children are well taken care of, stated that “Obinna Ukor Foundation will focus on the Orphanages here because I have seen the great difference that you are committed to raise the kids properly”.
“I’m a humanitarian adventurer and a philanthropist. Obinna Ukor Foundation was established to help the Less-privileged. And I used today, Valentine’s Day, to visit the homeless children, to show them love: donate food and babies items and money to them. The babies are God’s giving children and we have to care for them as God cares for us. The Foundation has the objective of being a helping hand to the poor by paying hospital bills and visiting prisoners. In all these, I want to be grateful to God for the life of my family”, Obinna Ukor maintained.
Expressing gratitude to God for keeping them and giving them energy and resources to affect humanity positively, wife of Amb Obinna Ukor, Mrs Catherine Obinna Ukor, affirmed that the essence of the humanitarian adventure “is to show love to the poor/orphanages; to tell them that they are not alone, that we also care about them”.
Thanking Obinna Ukor Foundation for the philanthropy showered on the Less-privileged children, Founder of Jesus Orphanage Home and Assistant Manager of Jehovah Nissi Orphanage/Motherless Babies Home, Fine-Girl Jesus and Juliet Chika, said the children will get more relived with the items and the money.
They children prayed to God to continue to sustain the donors and strengthen them as they contribute to society growth and goodness.
Hence, the Founder of Jesus Orphanage Home “we urgently need light/generator, bed, fan, water, cylinder and other things to help us here. There are some of the grown up children who have not been enrolled in school due to lack of money. We beg well-to-do persons like Obinna Ukor to help us so that these basic needs will be actualised for the good and benefit of these poor and homeless children who are future of our society.”
