Former presidential candidate Adamu Garba has stated that sending one’s children to school outside of Nigeria is wrong and uncalled for
Sending children abroad to study is a common practice among many Nigerians, mostly top politicians.
Meanwhile, former presidential candidate, Adamu Garba seemed to have an opposite belief about this.
According to the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain who spoke through his Tweeter page, education is about culture, tradition, and values rather than certificates.
Adding that many Nigerian children become disoriented and lose the core values of education when they study abroad.
In his opinion, the best education system, he believes, is one that evolves through fine-tuning, refining, and improving one’s culture and values.
In his words:
The worst mistake some parents do nowadays is sending their children to school abroad. Education is about culture, tradition & values, not certificates. Your culture & value is African.
Sorry African parents, that is a wrong priority. Most of those kids got there to get lost. The best education system is the one that evolves through fine-tuning, refining and improving those your culture and value you think as least.
In essence, it is the hallmark of Africa’s development, growth and complete liberation from colonial entanglements. Africa for Africa.
