Holds Workshop Enforcement Officers
In a bid to ensure a hitch free Christmas celebration in Imo, Imo Orientation Agency has organized a one day Seminar for Enforcement officers.
This is even as the organizers harped on the need for respect of the public while enforcing the rules by the agents
The Train the Trainer Workshop which held on Thursday at the Conference hall of ISOA involved key field operatives/ enforcement Agents drawn from the Ministries Department Agencies(MDA) of the State government harped on better approach towards the public in discharge of governmental functions.
The Director General,ISOA,Dr Ethelbert Okere in his address emphasised that the agency took the bold step by segmenting the training to cover the field operatives. He reminded them that they are Ambassadors of the State Government and must be seen to be men and women intergrity while discharging their duties.
The State Commissioner for Transport,Bar Rex Anunobi while declaring the Workshop open states that Governor Uzodinma’s administration is focused on creating sane and better Imo state. He went on imploring the various enforcement Officers to be civil and engage the public well.
Anunobi reiterated that these new skills would help to deepen activities of the state government especially as the Christmas season is here with numerous indigenes and visitors coming into the State.
Speaking also,Ms Mauren Oparaji of the National Orientation Agency called on the Enforcement Agents to always imbibe the core National values of Nigeria dwelling on patriotism in carrying out their duties.
On the other hand, the representative of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) David Egejuru called on Enforcement personnel to dress well,avoid time wastage on the road to forestall traffic build up on the roads.
More,while cautioning Enforcement Agents against drug and alcohol use,he emphasised the duty is not only to arrest but to educate,teach and help the people adjust to the preferred order.
The representative of the State Police Commissioner in her speech warns the public to desist from activities that may be injurious to the safety and Security of the people. She bemoaned the indifferent attitude of some vehicle owners to safety and traffic laws.
Moreso, Prof(Mrs) Chukwukere of Imo State University in her presentation enjoined the Waste Manager to approach their work well towards building safer cities and better health system for the Waste handlers and Managers across the state.
Earlier,the Moderator of Workshop, Mr Fidel Onyeneke quipped that what gives an organization respect is the attitude of the Workforce. He spoke against agency creating picture of a dreaded organization declaring it is defeating with people avoid giving out feedbacks to them.
