The House of Representatives in a rowdy session, Tuesday, declined to make electronic transmission of election results sheets mandatory, against the clamour of majority of Nigerians who believe such will guarantee credible elections in 2027.
The session resulted in opposition lawmakers staging a walk-out which they said was in solidarity with the yearnings of Nigerians.
Not a few Nigerians have expressed disappointment over the position of the National Assembly on mandatory electronic transmission of election results sheets, including civil society organisations, opposition figures and good governance advocates.
