As part of its humanitarian gestures, a corporate body, Nkwa Chi Kwere Foundation, has kicked off this year’s Christmas celebration with the release of 10,000 bags of rice to be distributed to women across communities and political wards in the Owerri senatorial district of Imo state.
In a press statement issued to news men, the Chief Convener of Nkwa Chi Kwere Foundation and public health practitioner, Chief Dr Chijioke Kaduru observed that Christmas celebration is all about showing kindness and extending succour to less-privileged persons in the society.
Chijioke Kaduru categorically, observed that celebrating Jesus Christ,
the very pillar of Christianity without sharing our God-given material blessings with the needy and less-privileged persons, particularly, at a time of nationwide economic hardship, is an exercise in futility.
Dr Chijioke Kaduru, an indigene of Obiangwu in Ngor Okpala local government area in the Owerri senatorial district of Imo state pointed out that Jesus Christ did not only come to preach about God’s kingdom but also, physically provided food for his followers in times of need.
Dr Chijioke Kaduru who is also, a staunch member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), strongly averred that by providing 50 tonnes of rice to support families across Owerri zone as part of Christmas celebration, the Nkwa Chi Kwere Foundation acted in line with Governor Hope Uzodimma-led 3-R mantra administration which according to him, has a culture of putting smiles on the faces of Imo civil servants with the usual payment of 13th Month salary at the end of every year.
He disclosed that Nkwa Chi Kwere Foundation as a humanitarian organization, came into existence basically to change lives of less-privileged persons positively and massively.
Meanwhile, Chijioke Kaduru who bears the Chieftaincy title of Nkwa Chi Kwere 1 of Obiangwu Autonomous Community, Ngor Okpala local government area, has given kudos to Imo state governor, Senator Dr Hope Uzodimma, CON, GSSR over the ongoing reconstruction and rehabilitation of roads in Owerri Municipal, describing the exercise as Governor Uzodimma’s policy of infrastructural development and recovery.
The public health physician observed that the 3-R administration’s rapid and massive road works in Owerri Municipal would result in traffic decongestion and enhancement of the beauty of Owerri, the state capital during the yuletide.
