The Honourable Commissioner for Science and Technology, Engineering and Innovation, Rt Hon. Engr Ikenna Elezianya has extolled Governor Hope Uzodinma on his infrastructural development in Imo state.
The Commissioner also stated that in his ministry, his core mandate is to identify Imo citizens who are innovative or creative with ideas that can impact positively in the society adding that such individuals will be trained and equipped by the Imo state government.
He stated this while addressing members of Media for Truth and Development who paid him a courtesy visit in his office at Owerri on Tuesday.
Engr Elezianya excitedly hailed Governor Hope Uzodinma over the massive infrastructures he is building across Imo State.
He said that Sen. Hope Uzodinma wants to be remembered as a Governor who brought steady light, built solid roads and other infrastructures in Imo.
The Grassroot politician and former Executive Chairman of Owerri West LGA said the Governor is reconstructing both the outer and inner ring roads in Owerri adding that he has awarded contract to build some of the internal roads in new Owerri.
The former lawmaker noted that the government of Imo State has introduced health insurance scheme to Imolites at the cost of #15,000.00 per person, covering all treatments accept cancer and urged Imo people to take advantage of it.
He also noted that the governor is building health centers in 55 locations across the state to take care of health challenges of Imolites in rural communities.
“The Governor has awarded contract to a German Company to reconstruct and equip Owerri General hospital that would be up to a world class standard.
“He has built many federal roads that were impassable including Owerri Umuahia road, Orlu and Okigwe roads.
” Ensures Imo state owned universities are functional and the ongoing reconstruction of Concorde Hilton standard Hotels Owerri which will be completed by December ” he stated.
The Civil Engineering expert said Sen Uzodinma has recovered many stolen lands and has attracted the multi billion Naira Imo Power Plant Projects which will give steady light to Imo people.
He hinted that he is eager to serve Imo people more in any capacity and appreciated Gov Uzodinma for given the opportunity to serve.
In the area of his ministry, he promised to bring innovation to Ministry of Science & Technology as the ministry is supervising the construction of three bus terminals . The Heartland terminal, Digital terminal and the Assumpta terminal which will be completed in May 2025.
He urged Imo communities to bring individuals with innovative ideas as Imo State government is ever ready to partner with them and develop those ideas in such a way that it can impact the world.
